Practice
Information
We are here to help you
We’re conveniently located just off the M1, near the Pines Shopping Centre in Elanora. We’re in our own building, with plenty of onsite and street parking.
Our practice has a homely feel and a peaceful waterside position. We look forward to seeing you.
Appointments
Our practice is open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.
In life-threatening emergencies, call the ambulance on 000.
For all other afterhours issues (after 5.30 pm) that are non-life threatening, please contact afterhours care 07 5532 8666 or the National Home Doctor Service on 137 425.
Consultations during practice opening hours are by appointment. If your matter is urgent, please inform our reception staff and we will do our best to accommodate you.
A standard appointment is 15 minutes to address a single query. If you have more than one query or the matter is complex, or you are a new patient with a medical history unknown to us, please book a long or complex appointment. Patients who attend with long lists of queries, should expect to have these resolved over several appointments.
At times, urgent medical situations will take precedence over booked appointments. This may cause unexpected delays. We ask for your patience at these times.
Please let us know whether you have mobility issues and need any special assistance.
Telehealth appointments
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Australian Government has expanded the eligibility criteria for telehealth appointments to all Australians. Certain criteria must be met for Medicare funding and certain consultations are not possible via telehealth. Dr McKay, Dr Alam and Dr Lee are currently available for Telehealth appointments. These are limited and privately billed. Dr Hill is not available for telehealth at this time.
Please call 07 5534 5133 to make an appointment.
Fees and billing
Please note as of the 1st November 2024, we have had to make the decision to transition all patients back to our standard billing policy. This decision is driven by the need to ensure the ongoing viability of our practice and enabling us to continue providing the high standard of care you deserve.

Our practice is a private billing practice. All Professionals advise their own patients of their billing arrangements. Fees are determined by a combination of complexity and time. We offer concession fees for current pension card holders over 75 and Bulk Bill DVA Gold card holders and children under 16. Please ask our reception staff for our full fee schedule.

Prescriptions
Repeat Prescriptions and Referrals require 4 days for processing.
Regular repeat prescriptions and referrals generally require a consultation. These can be ordered online under the following circumstances.
Patients can request a repeat prescription or ongoing specialist referral for $25.00. This service is only available to existing patients of the clinic and is at the discretion of the patient’s regular GP. Please note there is a 4-day turnaround, and pain medication, including S8 and S4 scheduled medications, will not be approved.
To be eligible, patients must have had a consultation with their regular GP in the last 6 months. Repeat medication prescriptions will be limited to zero repeats.
Repeat specialist referrals are only for renewals of existing referrals that have expired. New referrals will always require a consultation. If you meet this criteria and need a repeat prescription or ongoing referral letter, please download the clinic app from the app store and place your order through the appropriate tab.
Please note: This service is available as a trial for patients of Dr Hill only at this time.
Please ask our reception staff for more information.
